eGranting: Finding time for justice.
The Challenge Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) needed a comprehensive grants management system that would enable a consistent granting process, reduce the paperwork burden for PCCD and their grantees, and most importantly reduce the administration time spent on the granting process so that more energy could be on the business function of PCCD in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.	The Solution CAI developed the Electronic Grants Management Information System (EGMIS) for PCCD, with funding from the US Bureau of Justice Assistance. The application, which is Internet-based, provides centralized access to and administration of all programs as well as fiscal and audit data to staff and grantees throughout the granting lifecycle. The system automates every step of the grant application, award, and tracking process. EGMIS supports both titled and discretionary (competitive) grants. Key features assist in the review/scoring and contract negotiation process. A robust Application designer empowers PCCD to customize each grant application and monitoring requirements as needed without the added risks, expense and time delays associated with programming changes.	The Technology EGMIS is a highly secured Internet/Intranet application, based on industry standard components including .NET, SQL Server and Crystal Reports. The system is designed with scalability in mind to accommodate PCCD as their needs grow.
