One of the most important factors in deciding to join a company is its benefits program. Any employee deserves a return on time and energy invested in the job. When CAI talks about getting a return, the return is more than just money. Money is important, but it does not end there. Employees want support, understanding, flexibility, recognition, and all the things that let them know their efforts are appreciated and that they are valued as an individual.
With this in mind, CAI has developed a benefits program that provides for the well-being for the employee and their family. The benefits program is designed to provide significant protection from catastrophic loss due to medical expenses and temporary loss of income. Additionally, CAI provides the added security of retirement, disability, and death benefits.
All associates who work thirty hours or more per week on an annual average basis are considered Full-time and are eligible for benefits. Full-time, salaried associates are eligible for the complete benefit package. Full-time hourly associates are eligible for all benefits except profit sharing and leave, which include holiday leave, sick leave, and vacation leave. Medical Care Coverage
CAI recognizes associates may experience injury or become ill periodically. To protect associates from financial loss incurred as a result of treatment and to provide a competitive compensation package, CAI offers voluntary medical care benefits.
All full-time associates are eligible to participate in medical benefits including a co-pay prescription drug coverage plan, at a minimal premium per pay, based on the level of coverage chosen. The plan provided by Highmark Blue Shield is equivalent to Hospital/Surgical/Major Medical coverage. Highlights of the plan include: Full coverage for most preventative services, minimal co-pays for typical services, and 90% coverage of the Usual and Customary Rate (UCR) for other services performed by participating providers up to a modest Out Of Pocket limit. Out of network services are covered, but at a lower coinsurance percentage. Dependent children between the ages of 23 and up to age 26 are eligible for coverage, as long as they are not eligible for medical coverage through their own employer. If the dependent child is totally disabled, coverage can be continued past age 26 with approved certification.
Dental Care Coverage
To assist associates in obtaining cost-effective treatment, CAI offers a voluntary dental care plan. All full-time associates are eligible to participate in the plan provided by Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (MetLife). Highlights of the plan include the following: Dental examinations and restorative treatments are covered when performed by a dentist, other physician or oral surgeon. Plan participants are eligible for two dental examinations and cleanings in any 12-month period. Preventative care is not subject to a deductible. Orthodontics coverage is provided for dependent children up to the age of 19. Dependent children over the age of 19 are not eligible unless enrolled as a full-time student or are totally disabled.
Vision Care Coverage
To assist associates in obtaining cost-effective treatment, CAI offers a voluntary vision care plan. All full-time associates are eligible to participate. The plan is administered by Davis Vision. Highlights of the plan include the following: Eye examinations and refractions performed by an ophthalmologist, other physician, or optometrist. Plan participants are eligible for an eye examination and lenses or contact lenses once in a calendar year. Dependent children over the age of 19 are not eligible unless enrolled as a full-time student or are totally disabled.
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
To help associates keep their medical/dependent care expenses as low as possible, CAI offers two flexible spending accounts. All active full-time associates are eligible to open flexible spending accounts during the Open Enrollment period (November 1 November 30) for a January 1 effective date. The intent of medical flex care is to pay for expenses not covered through any other medical, dental, or vision plan for the associate and their family. The intent of dependent flex care is to pay for expenses associates incur for the care of a dependent/child.
Commuter Savings Accounts
In an effort to assist our associates in keeping their commuting costs as low as possible, CAI has established two commuter benefits to allow associates to elect to set aside pre-tax dollars for work-related transportation expenses. All active full-time CAI associates are eligible to open Commuter Savings accounts. Parking Reimbursement Account uses pre-tax dollars for reimbursement of qualified parking expenses which are not reimbursed through any alternative reimbursement method Transportation Fare Media uses pre-tax dollars for purchases of vouchers that give participants the ability to purchase any fare available through the local transit authority and private transportation companies.
Short-Term Disability (STD) Insurance
To assist associates who may suffer financial loss incurred as a result of an extended leave due to a disabling condition, CAI offers a voluntary short-term disability benefit. All full-time associates are eligible to participate. The benefit amount is 70% of weekly basic earnings, up to $1000 weekly maximum, and a 13-week maximum duration.
Long-Term Disability (LTD) Insurance
Associates may experience catastrophic injury or illness during the course of their employment with CAI. To protect associates from financial loss incurred as a result of absence from work due to prolonged injury or illness, long-term disability benefits are provided at no cost to all full-time associates. Once a claim is approved, the LTD benefit coverage pays two-thirds of your monthly compensation to a maximum of $3000.00 per month for a condition causing disability. Additionally, eligible associates may elect up to $5,000.00 a month in Voluntary Long Term Disability coverage, based on their salary level.
Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
All full-time associates receive CAI's group base life insurance benefit. There is no premium for base coverage which offers $10,000 of life insurance, an AD&D benefit of $10,000, Spousal insurance of $2,000, and children/dependent insurance of $1,000. Additionally, eligible associates may elect to purchase voluntary supplemental term life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance up to a maximum benefit of $300,000.
Workers' Compensation Disability Insurance
Unfortunately, associates may experience a work-related injury or illness during the course of their employment with CAI. As mandated by state and federal law, and in an effort to protect associates from financial loss due to an injury or illness, CAI provides workers' compensation benefits. Associates will be contacted directly by Hartford Casualty if they have any additional questions regarding claims.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - Balance Works from eni®
The EAP program provides for the early identification and counseling of mental health, addiction, and work/life problems. CAI recognizes the impact life issues can have on associates, both in and out of the workplace. The employer provided EAP gives immediate access to the information needed to help employees balance work and their personal life. The features of the EAP save time with the following services:
- Immediate access to masters level consultants, 24-hours a day, 365 days a year
- Access to professional counseling services at no cost to the member
- Referrals to local qualified professionals and agencies
- Access to over 300 issue-specific resource rooms
- Ability to view and print over 1000 articles
The premium for the EAP program is employer provided and all CAI associates and their immediate family members are eligible for the services.
401(k)/Profit Sharing Plan and Roth 401(k) Plan
The 401(k)/Profit Sharing Plan allows associates to set aside pre-tax dollars on a regular basis through payroll deductions. The Roth 401(k) Plan allows associates to set aside post-tax dollars on a regular basis through payroll deductions. All associates (full and part-time) are eligible to participate in the voluntary payroll deduction of pre and post-tax dollars up to the IRS or Plan annual limits. All new hires into CAI are automatically enrolled in the salary deferral plan at 5% of their salary, unless they specifically opt-out of participating. CAI associates enter the salary deferral portion of the plan through an on-line enrollment process, and all deferral election and percentage changes are effective the first of the following month after the change is entered. Catch-up contributions are also allowed on the monthly change dates. Associates may drop their percentage to zero during any pay period.
After completing 12 months of service, all full-time, salaried associates are automatically enrolled in the profit sharing portion of the plan on the next plan entry date. Entry dates for the profit sharing portion of the plan are January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1. Once enrolled in this portion of the plan, CAI may make a contribution to the plan for the employee. The amount of this contribution, if any, will be determined by CAI and is based on eligible compensation while enrolled during the plan year.
529(e) - CollegeBound Fund
Saving for a higher education requires careful planning and a high level of commitment. The CollegeBoundfund managed by Alliance Capital allows associates to set aside savings for education expenses on a regular basis through payroll deduction for the beneficiary of their choice. All associates (full and part-time) are eligible to participate in the plan. Associates may enroll in the plan at any time during the calendar year. More specific details and/or investment advice can be obtained by contacting the consultants at Janney Montgomery Scott, L.L.C. Federal regulations restrict enrollment to U.S. citizens and permanent residents.
AFLAC Voluntary Coverage
CAI recognizes that associates may experience injury or become ill. In an effort to protect our associates from financial loss incurred due to themselves or a family member experiencing an accident or specified health event, we offer voluntary coverage through Aflac. All full-time CAI associates are eligible to elect to participate in the Aflac Plans. Aflac is available at the time of hire and annually during the AFLAC Open Enrollment period held in June.
PPL GOLD Credit Union
PPL GOLD Credit Union is a financial institution that offers many of the same products and services that commercial and community banks do: savings, checking, debit cards, ATM machines, Internet Banking, bill pay, mortgages, car loans, credit cards, home equity loans and lines of credit. All CAI associates and their family members are eligible to join PPL GOLD Credit Union. Family members include spouse, children, parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents and grandchildren. MetLife Auto & Home group insurance program features benefits and conveniences designed to meet our diverse associate needs. All Computer Aid, Inc. associates are eligible to enroll for coverage under the MetLife Auto & Home plan, for either Auto or Home coverage, or both. Enrollment is on-going; you have the ability to enroll in coverage at any time throughout the year.
